{"id":244585,"date":"2021-04-24T20:31:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-24T19:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yregincymru-staging-3.onyx-sites.io\/?p=244585"},"modified":"2026-04-08T13:11:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T13:11:33","slug":"exciting-developments-as-yr-egin-reopens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yregin.cymru\/cy\/exciting-developments-as-yr-egin-reopens\/","title":{"rendered":"Yr Egin yn \u2018Blaguro\u2019 unwaith eto."},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/yregin.cymru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Caption_-Lisa-Fearn-Gweithdy-Blaguro-_-Lisa-Fearn-Blaguro-Workshop-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-244957\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The doors of Canolfan S4C Yr Egin in Carmarthen opened to the public for the first time in over a year last Saturday,&nbsp; April 24th, when a family event was held as part of the 'Blaguro' project activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mae\u2019r prosiect, sy\u2019n cael ei ariannu gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru, am sefydlu gardd gymunedol ar dir Yr Egin, gyda\u2019r bwriad o gyfuno gwaith ymarferwyr creadigol gyda grwpiau cymunedol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y grwpiau cymunedol sydd wrth wraidd y prosiect yw DrMz Caerfyrddin, teuluoedd Gwneud Bywyd yn Haws dan arweiniad Hanna Hopwood Griffiths, Sir G\u00e2r 50+, Greenspace dan arweiniad Dorothy Morris, T\u0177 Hapus a Myfyrwyr BA Drama Gymhwysol: Addysg Lles Cymuned yn y Brifysgol.  Bydd cyfle ehangach i eraill ymuno drwy weithgareddau cyhoeddus fel yr un cynhaliwyd dydd Sadwrn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One element of the project entails growing vegetables and flowers in the community garden in conjunction with the caf\u00e9 at Yr Egin. Therefore free planting workshops were held with local children to start this exciting initiative. The children worked hard helping to plant vegetable seeds in pots for later cultivation on land at Yr Egin, as well as learning gardening skills. Yr Egin's role is to stimulate creativity both regionally and nationally and the local community is an essential part of the development on the University of Wales Trinity Saint David campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seeds for the \u2018Blaguro\u2019 project were donated by Tyfu\u2019r Dyfodol - Growing the Future which is a National Botanic Garden of Wales project, and the compost by Merlin's Magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dywedodd Carys Ifan, Cyfarwyddwr Yr Egin:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018Blaguro\u2019 project was designed as a way of reconnecting with the communities of Carmarthen town and trying to be as inclusive as possible. The lockdown periods have demonstrated the importance of our green spaces for wellbeing and mental health and has revived people's interest in nature. We at Yr Egin are keen to share our green spaces with the community especially those who do not have a garden to escape to or who want some advice on how to grow vegetables. 'Blaguro' will also provide an opportunity for creativity to literally take root and blossom, an opportunity to bring people together to work together, as well as creating a space that offers comfort, sanctuary and a creative experience to an outdoor audience\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSaturday's event brought a smile and relief to a large number of people as we once again opened our doors and welcomed families back to the centre.&nbsp; I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing all the community groups coming here in turn and to see what they create in conjunction with the creative practitioners.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lisa Fearn bu\u2019n arwain y gweithdy plannu ar gyfer yr ardd gymunedol ddydd Sadwrn, ac mae\u2019n edrych ymlaen at weld y prosiect yn datblygu. \u201cMae Blaguro yn brosiect sydd yn dod \u00e2 grwpiau gwahanol o\u2019r gymuned at ei gilydd i ddysgu sgiliau newydd. Mae\u2019n gyfle i dyfu llysiau, ffrwythau a blodau ar y safle a fydd yn cael ei defnyddio yng Nghegin y Sied dros y misoedd nesa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manteisiwyd ar y cyfle hefyd i ail agor caffi\u2019r Egin dan denantiaeth newydd. Braf yw medru cyhoeddi mai Lisa Fearn a\u2019i chriw fydd yn gyfrifol am redeg caffi  \u2018Y Sied @ Yr Egin\u2019  gyda Josh Fearn a Llew Charles yn gyfrifol am redeg y caffi o ddydd i ddydd. <em>'Y Sied @ Yr Egin'<\/em> caf\u00e9 with Josh Fearn and Llew Charles responsible for the day-to-day running of the caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lisa is looking forward to the challenge:&nbsp; \u201cThis is a new initiative for Y Sied - from the cooking and gardening school in Whitemill, to Y Sied Goffi in town, we are expanding to Yr Egin, offering our customers the same type of food and drink, healthy light meals and salads. The caf\u00e9 is conveniently located with plenty of parking space for those travelling and is within a stone's throw of a number of housing estates. Everyone working from home who deserves a break will be warmly welcomed to come along for a cuppa or lunch.
