        "rendered": "<p>Yr Egin, the creative and digital centre of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, is proud to launch&nbsp;<em>Gwd Thing: Sir Benfro!<\/em>&nbsp;\u2013 an ambitious new project that will give a digital voice to communities across Pembrokeshire, nurturing talent, confidence and creativity through the medium of&nbsp;Welsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uwtsd.ac.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/media_item_uncropped\/public\/2025-07\/GwdThing1.jpeg?itok=yuu_qa_j\" alt=\"a girl in front of a green screen\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on the success of \u201cShwmae Sir G\u00e2r\u201d in Carmarthenshire,&nbsp;<em>Gwd Thing: Sir Benfro!&nbsp;<\/em>develops skills locally to create original content and celebrate the best of the County\u2019s creativity, heritage and community life. The content will range from interviews with artists, musical performances and community stories, and will be shared on popular platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, through the eyes of the local&nbsp;residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, Gwd Thing&nbsp;: Sir Benfro has received \u00a349,952 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which is distributed by Pembrokeshire County Council, will offer practical opportunities for young people and artists across the county to develop skills in the&nbsp;creative&nbsp;industries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Call for Content&nbsp;Creators!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gwd Thing: Sir Benfro! is looking for 6 enthusiastic, energetic, and creative Content Creators to join an exciting programme that combines training, mentoring, and content creation with a unique opportunity to work closely with local communities, groups, and&nbsp;artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will receive training in digital content creation, creative marketing and community work, before using those skills to produce meaningful content for social media channels and deliver creative workshops in their&nbsp;communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for individuals who&nbsp;are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passionate about telling local stories and enjoy working with&nbsp;people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social media savvy and confident in sharing video content, photos and creative&nbsp;ideas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possesses good spoken Welsh&nbsp;skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to travel independently within the&nbsp;county<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eager to learn, be mentored and experiment with new&nbsp;ideas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The role will&nbsp;include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attending training and mentoring sessions between July and October&nbsp;2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating video and digital content for social platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok,&nbsp;Facebook)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Holding creative workshops with community groups, organisations or local&nbsp;artists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sharing local stories, events and experiences in an accessible, appealing and creative&nbsp;way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for applications to become a Content Creator on the project is 14 July, with full details on Yr Egin\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will collaborate with organisations such as Menter Iaith Sir Benfro, Span Arts, Pembrokeshire College and local secondary schools, working with and complementing current activity. Unlike any other service in the county, Gwd&nbsp;<em>Thing: Sir Benfro!&nbsp;<\/em>places the Welsh language and the creative industries at the heart of its&nbsp;vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carys Ifan, Director of Yr Egin,&nbsp;said:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely excited about working more intensively in Pembrokeshire and delighted that the Council has seen the potential of<em>&nbsp;Gwd Thing: Sir Benfro!&nbsp;<\/em>One of Yr Egin\u2019s objectives is to create linguistic, cultural, economic and social benefits in South West Wales and I envisage that through this project and the collaboration with partners as well as the development of the Creative West Wales network, we will see that realised even further.&nbsp;<em>Gwd Thing: Sir Benfro!
