Canolfan S4C yr Egin in Carmarthen has just joined a Valued Partner Scheme for schools run by the Careers Wales service.
At the heart of the creative sector in South West Wales, Canolfan S4C Yr Egin at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus inspires creativity and imagination, nurturing talent for the future.
The School Valued Partner scheme provides recognition for employers who actively support individual schools through Careers Wales employer liaison activities. The scheme identifies employers who have an ongoing relationship with schools, and who also regularly support activities within the schools.
The scheme means that Yr Egin staff can work more closely with a school to offer students various support if they wish to develop specific skills whether they are business sessions, group activities, or even one-to-one sessions with a young person who is keen to follow a strong path into the digital/creative world.
Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin will be the first partner to join the scheme, and they are looking forward to working together. Eirlys Thomas, Assistant Headteacher at Ysgol Bro Myrddin, said,
“We here at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin are really excited about the opportunity to be valued partners of Canolfan S4C Yr Egin as it will give our pupils the opportunity to avail themselves of the media expertise on their doorstep. We look forward to working together and offering exciting opportunities to share information about the field to develop our pupils’ interest in media careers through the medium of Welsh.”
Llinos Jones, S4C Centre Engagement Officer Yr Egin is looking forward to starting this new partnership.

We are very much looking forward to holding events with the pupils in the near future.”
