Canolfan S4C Yr Egin are pleased to announce that Angharad Davies has been appointed General Manager of the centre. A former student of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David here in Carmarthen, and more recently, Head of Production with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, who are now tenants at Yr Egin, Angharad is very familiar with the location of her new workplace, and Yr Egin is very proud to welcome her to the team.
Carys Ifan, Director of Canolfan S4C Yr Egin, says of Angharad’s appointment,
“Angharad will be a great asset to Yr Egin and to the University, with her expertise, professionalism and infectious personality contributing to realizing the next step of the exciting vision, by further stimulating the creative industries in the region. Originally from Aberaeron, Angharad has now settled in Peniel with her husband Alun, and her children Elsi Cêt and Ifan. Angharad studied a degree in Theatre, Music and Media at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, before going on to study a master’s degree in Stage Management at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. Angharad then worked all over the country with various theatre companies, before joining Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru in 2010.
Angharad is excited about her new role here at Yr Egin, and said about her position as General Manager of the centre,
“I’m really looking forward to joining the great team at Yr Egin, and getting to know the people behind the creative companies and businesses that are based here.
As part of my job, I am very excited to develop and work together with Yr Egin’s partners and tenants to spark creative imagination and nurture the talents of the future by engaging with the industry.
The Egin is a centre and a key creative hub for the West, as well as for Wales. I am very keen to continue serving and welcoming customers, audiences and an exciting cultural community to Yr Egin, to inspire and ignite social movements and various communities across the region. I look forward to seeing you at Yr Egin’s café before long for a coffee and a chat!”
Angharad started in her role on the 27th of February and is based here at Canolfan S4C Yr Egin in Carmarthen.
