Ready to tell your story - your way?
Join us this summer for two weeks of hands-on filmmaking where you’ll write, shoot, and edit your own short film — all in the heart of South-West Wales. Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or already making films on your phone, this is your chance to learn the craft, find your voice, and create something real.
Taking place from the 11th - 15th and 18th - 22nd August, and appropriate for young people between 14 – 21, our 2 week crash-course is designed to be accessible for those completely new to filmmaking, and those looking to hone and explore their craft further. The course tutors are professionals currently working in the Film & TV industry with a broad range of experience in making films and teaching film over the last decade.
The best way to learn how to make films, is to make them. The fastest way to learn, is to see a project through from conception to completion. Participants will work together to craft the story, plan the production, shoot the film and edit it all together ready to show to an audience in Yr Egin’s cinema screen on the evening of August 22nd. “You learn the most when watching your film in front of an audience.”
The filmmaking summer camp will cover skills such as storytelling, writing, teamwork, leadership, organising, time management, technical skills and editing. The crash course will give participants the confidence to continue creating after the course, expand their portfolio for college & university applications and provide a first step in navigating a potential future career.
